I find Birmingham city centre a fascinating place and get lots of ideas for my pictures from the different buildings, shops , public statues.and of course the people who inhabit it. I try to put a slightly different and imaginative slant on things within seemingly realistic depictions of my surroundings.
Close observation is everything to me, added to a sense of the bizarre and weird world we live in which is so ordinary and yet so strange. I work in detailed style in watercolours with occasional touches of gouache.
I will be selling prints in a mount, ready to be framed at a reasonable price, of my paintings in three sizes : small 10 x 8 inches, medium size : 40 x 30 cm and large 50 x 40 cm – all three sizes will fit standard size frames.
I will also be selling greeting cards of three of my paintings. As well as selling my work in the shop, I sell my prints at the Handmade in Birmingham Market and the Moseley Art Market.
