Not content with selling t-shirts we’re now selling money. £25 will get you one of these.
And from November 13th you’ll be able to exchange that for £25 worth of arts and crafts.
In the meanwhile your £25, or more if you like, will be spent on getting the shop ready, paying for electricians, paint (we’re gonna need a lot of paint), fixtures that we can’t blag, buckets of tea and biscuits for the volunteers and so on.
Think of it as a loan, or a credit note, or an investment. Just don’t think of it as a gift voucher because it’s not. It’s just a clever way of cutting through the catch-22 circle of paying for a shop before we’ve got a shop to generate funds to pay for the shop.
Ordering details are here. If you know you’re going to buy something from us between now and Christmas please consider paying for it up front.
Thank you.
(And thanks to Helga Henry for helping us check we’re all above board and safe with this.)

great idea… you may generate more interest and pre-sales if you offer a discount on sales price for redemption of certificate?
you could also offer tickets to opening party as an incentive…
@James
Since this is income, and not a donation, and since money is tight at this stage, we’d rather not give discounts. But there are other things we can give to “friends of the shop” and we’ll be looking to develop those over time.
One of them is a special preview night for people who have WaB art money before the shop opens with wine and such. I’ll announce that once we’ve figured it out!
Possibly a silly question but will we be able to get change from these in real money if we don’t spend the full £25 in one go? Within some kind of sensible limit, obviously.
(Let’s assume we’ve already done the stock “there’ll be so much amazing stuff that you’ll inevitably spend it several times over” bit).
Oops, sorry – just looked at the page linked at the top. Please disregard previous enquiry.
@Russ, just to clarify, a “sensible limit” would probably be £2. Above that you’ll get a credit note, below that it’s not worth the admin.
